I was braiding my yaya's hair while watching Mars Needs Moms on DVD when the fireworks started. The empty lot right beside my condo has this grand launch for the condo's that's about to be built there. Here's the event poster:

I've been looking at condominiums online because my mom said she wanted to buy a new one and sell this one we've had for 10 years. (sniff) I couldn't resist daydreaming about getting my own place, too, so I looked for possible one-bedroom units for myself. Two bedrooms if I can help it! This is just wishful thinking on my part. I really like hosting parties or simple hang outs with friends so I feel like a bigger space is only appropriate. I've considered getting one in Makati, but I really like the one they're building in Shangri-la Mall's old parking lot. They even have one bedroom units with a maid's room! Plus, my mom is very, very interested in maybe getting a two or three bedroom unit there.

Ack, I should stop this.

Scalpers and Patron

I found out about the All-Star weekend the day after the tickets went sold out. I'm not the biggest basketball fan but I know that this weekend is a big deal, especially for people like my brother Ali. He never asks for anything so when he said he wanted to watch it I knew I had to do something. I spent the whole day scouting for tickets from scalpers because I didn't have any choice. The best I found was an upper A ticket worth 6k (original price is 1500) and I knew that if I don't buy it ASAP someone else will. True enough, two hours after I made a deal with a scalper to meet up the same night, he said that other people were interested and were making greater offers. Good thing he respected the fact that we made a deal first. So my first encounter with a scalper is a good one, although I wish that I didn't have to pay that much for one ticket.

So here it is! My brother's ticket this Saturday. He's watching alone because that hefty price scalpers add on the actually moderately priced ticket is worth it with him and only him. Haha!

From now on, Tuesdays would be reserved for my girls Kim and Kenta. We had a really late lunch at Tutto (where we saw Miko and Julz) and went drinking at Nuvo (where we met up with said scalper, see above).

This Friday night

If there's one thing I am not looking forward to, it's the end of the Harry Potter series. Yes I am excited to watch the next film, but the fact that it's the last one is just too hard to think about. I can never put into words how much Harry Potter means to me. I admit I only started reading the books after the first film came out, but that doesn't make the impact the books have made in my life any lesser. I was about to turn eleven when the first movie came out, and I guess that's what makes me so attached to the whole Harry Potter world - I felt like I grew up with Harry, Ron and Hermione.


Anyway, I've made it a point to re-read all the books and watch all the previous movies before I watch the last film. I am currently 28% along the seventh one and I don't know how to feel. A part of me wants to read everything fast since I still have to watch the films on top of everything else I do, and the movie's in 6 days so that doesn't leave me much time. But also, I really don't want it to end. I always feel like this about books that I like. I never want them to end.

IN OTHER NEWS.

I am attending my cousin (from my mom's side) and uncle's (from dad's side) first child's baptism tomorrow as a godmother! That would make Anika my third godchild! I wanted to give my cousin something too since it would be her birthday on the same day as the baptism, so I ordered cake pops from Skinny Sweets and had them personalized.


Look at how big that is! The Starbuck's version of it doesn't even come close! Plus, they're vegan (soy-based/dairy-free, no eggs) and low in sugar (you have the option to make them sugar-free). Lookie, even Lucille wants to taste them, and she's not even supposed to be attracted to anything chocolate as it is poison to them!


Speaking of my cat, she's turned one last week and she's been in heat since then. It's so disturbing.
